On October 16, 2023, the Network for Women Elected to Municipalities organized a training workshop on the art of communication at the headquarters of the Rayyan Municipal Council, in cooperation with a member of the Rayyan Municipal Council and under the supervision of the Network’s Mountain Office.
The training workshop targeted some current female members of the municipal councils (Al-Rahibat, Al-Hawamid, Al-Qalaa, Al-Rajban, Al-Zawiya Al-Gharb, Yafran, Al-Shuqayqa, Kabaw, Nalut), a number of women candidates for the upcoming municipal councils, a number of civil society organizations, and female municipal employees.
The workshop addressed the importance of the art of communication and its mechanisms, and the need for upcoming female candidates to be fully aware of the art of communication as a tool to support them in their work on the municipal council.
The workshop was facilitated by Ms. Zaytouna Muammar Sultan, a former member of the Zuwara Municipality and one of the network’s founding members.
This workshop was organized with the support of the “Citizens” program, implemented by the Regional Office of the International Cooperation Agency of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG International) with the support of the European Union.
