The President and Vice President of the Network for Elected Women participated in a visit to the Netherlands to learn about the Dutch experience in empowering women and combating violence against them.

At the kind invitation of the Director of the Regional Office of the International Cooperation Agency of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities, Dr. Naila Al-Akrimi, and within the framework of the “Citizens” project, the President of the Network of Elected Women, Ms. Nadia Abu Sreiwel, and her Deputy, Ms. Asmaa Al-Sayed Saleh Abu Bakr, accompanied by a delegation from the Ministry of Local Government and the Minister of State for Women’s Affairs and the accompanying delegation, participated in a 3-day visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands on November 26, 2023. This visit aimed to learn about the Dutch experience in empowering women and combating violence against women.
The trip included numerous programs, visits, and workshops, including a visit to the Dutch Foreign Ministry accompanied by an official from the Libyan Embassy in the Netherlands, a visit to the Dutch Senate and the headquarters of the VNG organization, and a visit to a Notre Dame City Hall building dedicated to combating violence against women and children.
